Psychotherapy

Is a treatment offered for behavioural and mental health issues. The common goal is to increase awareness or “insight” into behaviours that may be harmful or destructive physically and/or emotionally.

As psychotherapists we work with an individuals to unravel the root of the problem being experienced. We listen, analyse and share our knowledge to help clients face up to deep rooted behaviour patterns and coping mechanisms that no longer serve them, so that they can become “unstuck” and move on with their lives.

Mostly, however, psychotherapy is purely creating change by identifying and talking through problems and issues. Anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, and relationship communication problems are within the realms of the psychotherapeutic treatment we offer.

We work across a wide spectrum of mental health issues. Types of psychotherapy include:

  •                      Cognitive Therapy
  •                      Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  •                      EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
  •                      Couples (“Relationship Counselling”)
  •                      Group Psychotherapy and support groups.

A series of sessions is recommended in psychotherapy to give time for the therapist to work on the client’s resistance to change. By seeing through the treatment there is more likelihood of long term results.

The most important aspect of Psychotherapy is that we have a healthy positive working relationship with our clients and that they feel safe working with us.
